Dunes of Despair bonus
Simple question - how do I do it? I got everything else, but I can't do that damn thing. Where exactly are those 3 bosses I'm supposed to defeat? Trying to clean entire area takes way too long, especially if I divide my party into 2 groups, with 1 defending and the other one killing. I tried to hunt them down before countdown, but exits are blocked, so no good It annoys me that such a simple mission has such irritating bonus.
Edit: Hm, didn't notice "quest" forum - well, names are bit counter-intuitive, sorry

You can probably look in the quests forum. I'm sure this thread will be moved there anyhow but your answer's probably already there.

Wait until around 7:30 (I believe that is when the enemies stop coming) and rush one side, and then another, (and then the third, if there is one, I forgot).
The bosses are out the exits to your left, right, and front when looking from the entrance to the ghost on the altar.

Aren't the bosses those wurms that shoots "cannon balls" at you and your group while you defend the hero ghost? We didn't try the bonus yet, but that's what I figure it is when we played it.

No the wurm are not the bosses. The bosses are beyond the wurms in little castle type things (I believe).

Oh really!? Yikes!! Do you have to kill the wurms, or can you just run pass them and head straight to the "little castles"?

I would suggest running by the wurm, as they take forever to kil (on a side note, their attack is a spell, one mesmer can lockdown a wurm) (I haven't done the bonus before so I don't really know how to do the bonus).

you can take out one of the bosses with ranged attacks before you start. Just leave the ghostly hero by the footbridge and don't take him to the alter. Then take anyone that can do damage at range to the farthest southern tip of the arena. to the left of the doorway/footbridge there will be a hill that will take you up to the top of the wall. From there you can take out the first boss...then go and take the hero to the alter.

Wait, so I'm supposed to kill 3 bosses in 2:30 minute? No way. Running to them would take 2 minutes alone.

Doesn't the timer count down from 10:00? I mean wait 2 minutes and 30 seconds and then go. So you actually have 7 minutes and 30 seconds.

True, takes a long time to kill the wurms. I was a ranger when we did that mission and distrupting their skill was pretty easy since it has a long enough cast time. But ya, actually taking it down takes a while. If we can just go pass them, then that would be better since we're timed and everything. Thanks for the info.

Here's what I've seen that works a few times. A good team can be 2 warriors, 2 eles, and one monk, or replace 1 ele with another monk if the going gets rough.
-Defend the ghostly hero until the middle bridge is lowered and the siege wurm appears.
-Have one monk and one ele stay behind to protect the ghost. The rest of the team goes out the middle bridge to kill the 1st boss. You might find yourself low on health due to the siege wurm so kill quickly and use lots of self heals if possible. Come back and regroup if anyone dies or whatnot.
-Usually a monk boss comes around by this time by the right bridge, so the offense might want to come back and help defend the ghost. Afterwards, offense goes back out to kill the remaining boss.

One more thing - *which* bosses am I supposed to kill? There's definately more than 3 of them out there. I remember fighting 3 in the middle fort and thinking "that's it?" just to find out there are more in another one. Do they have some special names, or is it just random gibberish like all others?

They're just bosses, I never really paid any attention to their names. There are three bosses in the middle fort. IIRC there is one before the gate to the fort, one to the right, some scarabs in the middle, and another boss to the left. There's another one wandering around outside the right bridge but I assume he goes to attack the Ghostly Hero and doesn't count as a "general".
